I decided to design reflexology footwear because I saw a hole in the market. I targeted women in their 40s and 50s as my persona and point purchase as many women of this age work in the corporate world and need shoes that are elegant and ergonomic. I researched many alternative methods and thought that reflexology massage could be incorporated into the inner soles of the shoes as it promotes blood circulation, reduces stress and stimulates parts of the body that need attention. I made the reflex innersole zones removable so the user has choice as to what zones they wanted to massage and to chose what densities of foam they might desire.I looked at the manufacture process and researched many materials like leather and different podiatry foams. The outcome was a great success as I conducted many focus groups and the women loved my ideas and final piece.

Furniture Design – the art of design 2006

I designed three vanity stools for a boudoir. The point of this exercise was to combine art and design. I had complete freedom in exploring aesthetics and a lot of fun designing. I was able to be completely extravagant and eccentric and explore colour, form, materials and stylizing.

3 week project – Tap Design 2005
For this quick project I had to design an innovative tap design for a bathroom company. I decided to look at the ergonomic factor as well as design an aesthetically pleasing outcome. For inspiration I looked at the 1930s actress Mae West as a point of motivation. I found it to be very amusing.
