LOULOU is the creation of a young Australian designer with a corporate background, who understands the demands of the working woman that is often required to move effortlessly between work and social engagements.

Raised and educated in Sydney with degrees in business and finance, she has loved shoes since she was a small girl. As a teenager she was always seeking something a little different in her footwear, wanting them to standout from the mainstream. She would often purchase shoes then take them straight to a cobbler for alteration, moving a strap here or adding an accessory there.

This simple yearning to be different has been reflected in each season’s collection in which each design of shoes is conceived based on the types of leather she has purchased or ornaments that she has found.

A perfectionist, she has a thirst to continually expand on her skills. Having enrolled in a certified Footwear Production course in order to familiarise herself with the manufacturing process, she began profiling her target customers.

By adhering to the ‘dare to be different’ philosophy of LOULOU, she was able to attract consumers also thirsty for that ‘something else’.

Her first collection was debut in February 2006 at the inaugural Australia Shoe Fair, fielding much interest and intrigue from media and buyers alike, with the brand being picked up by boutiques and chain stores across Australia and New Zealand in its very first season.

Like most women, this young entrepreneur has a passion for all things unique, and it is this love that will no doubt lead her to continuously push the boundaries of creating beautiful shoes without the need to re-invent the wheel.
