MIS customers are women of all ages who love fashion and want to make a statement all their own. She wants to be current, trendy, yet sophisticated with out having to spend top dollar.
Experience
I have been designing clothing and other items since I was about 8 years. It has been a child hood dream of mine to have my own design company and I finally made that dream come true 5 years ago. The bag designing all started when I was pregnant with my son in 1990. The diaper bags were not much to desire and I wanted something chic to carry. The compliments were endless so I used it as an every day bag. The idea of making handbags to sell came after our family moved to a new home and I came across some bins of fabrics leftover from interior design jobs that I had. I just started cutting and sewing and before I new it I had 10 bags made. I decided to showcase them (over 60) in a fashion show to test the market and see what people thought. I sold almost every bag at my first show and from there it all escalated. To date MIS Fashion Bags has made and sold over 2000 handmade one of a kind bags and at the moment MIS is in the mist of planning the Spring 10 Collection and getting in production for the 2 collections. BOUTON is made in the USA and SIGNATURE is made by MIchelle in her Design Studio in Binghamton, NY.
Other Information
One of my greatest achievements with my company is being able to give back to causes that touch my life in one way or another. MIS has donated many items and has raised money for such organizations as The American Cancer Association, Lourdes Hospice, Boys/Girls Club to name a few.
