Miyoko

Miyoko is both the name of the refreshing new label from Perth designer, Emily Wills & her musing cat.

After graduating from Curtin University in 2004 with a degree in fashion & textile design,
Emily was keen to start her own label + Miyoko meaning beautiful child was born.
The signature style of the label reinforces notions of contradiction
whereby floral patterns merge with geometric design.

Throughout her budding career, she has worked with some of Perth’s leading fashion
companies including Empire Rose, Ashe Textiles + Rusty Surfwear. In 2006 she joined
creative forces with other like-minded artists + designers moving into ‘pigeohole
studios’ in West Perth where she managed her fashion label Miyoko whilst freelance
patternmaking for other local designers; Joveeba, Highs + Lows, Evil Eltron, LaLa
Orange + Les Corbeaux.

The ‘pigeonhole studio’ kids have relocated to The Ballroom where Miyoko has room
to grow + evolve as one of West Australia’s most exciting + anticipated labels.
